You daughter should have an IEP for speech services, and OT services. The
law allows a 'speech only' IEP, bu since she also receives OT she
qualifies. Have them add the accomodations to that... Or you can get a
504 plan. It provides the same protection under the law. The major
requirement for a 504 plan is that the disability is affecting the
educational achievement of the child. Clearly, your daughter is being
affected. (effected? I'll figure it out later. Sorry.)
Section 504 is not part of the federal law on special education (IDEA),
but is part of the Vocational Rehab and Training Act that was an outgrowth
of Vietnam veterans returning injured and needing accomodations.
